Purpose Statement
April 11, 2007: Brief Linton Research Fund Inc., Purpose Statement: The Linton Research Fund inc., shall assist persons throughout the United States and elsewhere with the genealogy and ancestral history research of Kirk Louis Linton (1914-1987) and those other families aligned genealogically, through publications, meetings, workshops, seminars, and other educational programs; shall encourage, assist, and perform in the publication of genealogical and historical works pertaining to subjects on the surname of LINTON and aligned families, or related areas or places, connected with them; shall encourage, assist and perform in the establishing of a LINTON surname historical society, or those other family surnames which are aligned genealogically. New Genealogical Terms: "Junkology" and "Name-gatherers", A genealogy researcher, who is not searching for original genealogical documents and sources and most of their family tree comes from online member trees.
"We must educate our new generations, that genealogy research is not a quick and easy task, real work and time are required. No instant gratification can be acquired. When you see and old history book, atlas, or old self published family history book in the flee market or on line, acquire it. Remember that next year or the next publishing the Alamo will not be in the new Texas history books, because it is becoming political incorrect. That is why my presences in research encyclopedias and research books is an ole one not an online one." Terry Louis Linton

Did you know this year, 2011, is the 851st anniversary of the building of Linton Church. The Romanesque style nave and chancel church was built in 1160, on Linton knoll next to Linton Tower in Parish Linton, Northumbria Scotland. Parish Linton is located in the district of Kelso, old County Roxburgh, 6 miles (South East by South) from Kelso in present day, County Scottish Borders, Scotland.
